06/14/2023 12:50:22 PMFinancial award in memory of “essential” college leader to debut this fall(Butler, PA) Six scholarships administered by the Butler County Community College Education Foundation will debut in the 2023-2024 academic year and increase to 155 the record number of named financial awards available to BC3 students, a college administrator said.John Bacon was hired in July 1966 as Butler County Community College’s first faculty member and helped the college to establish career programs such as those in nursing, metrology, electronic technology and computer data processing. He is shown, from left, in 1969, 1983 and in an undated photograph. Bacon passed away in December 2020 at age 95.
