(Pittsburgh) The fourth-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball team Wednesday evening finished the program’s second consecutive regular season without a loss and at 20-0 will compete Saturday for its 10th conference and seventh regional championships in a row.

All-American Josie Russo had 14 kills, Anora Robare 36 assists and Molly Bissell and Sarah Lucas 13 digs each as BC3 swept the Community College of Allegheny County 25-4, 25-16 and 25-13 in Pittsburgh in the Pioneers’ regular-season finale.

BC3 will be the top seed Saturday in the dual championship tournament for the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference and National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Region 20 crowns.

The Pioneers will face the winner of a semifinal match earlier Saturday between CCAC and host Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, Johnstown, at 2 p.m.

BC3, ranked No. 10 among 86 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III programs in the preseason, has held the No. 4 spot for two consecutive weeks. BC3 has been in the Top 15 in Division III in 35 of 39 polls dating to Oct. 4, 2021.

The sweep against CCAC was the Pioneers’ 16th of 2025 and the victory the 498th at BC3 for coach Rob Snyder.

Bissell had 13 of the Pioneers’ 42 kills against CCAC. Robare has had at least 30 assists 10 times at BC3. Emmy Fisher had three of BC3’s eight service aces.

The Pioneers swept Pennsylvania Highlands and CCAC twice in 2025.

BC3 was 21-0 in the 2024 regular season. The Pioneers finished 25-2 after a loss to the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Ill., in the first round of the NJCAA Division III national championship tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Russo, a middle hitter and Freeport High School graduate, has had at least 14 kills in eight matches this season and 12 times in her career at BC3. She was selected as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Region 20 player of the month for September when she averaged 4.18 kills and 1.45 blocks per set and a .471 hitting percentage.

Robare, a setter, and Bissell, an outside hitter, are graduates of Slippery Rock High; Lucas, a defensive specialist, of Butler; and Fisher, an opposite hitter, of Seneca Valley.
