Emergency Services - Police Services Option, A.A.S.

BC3’s Emergency Services – Police Services Option provides the skills and credentials to launch your career in law enforcement. Through a combination of on-campus criminology courses and Act 120 Certification from an approved provider outside of BC3, this program prepares you for real-world policing, investigation, and public safety careers. 

What You'll Learn

Graduates of this program will be able to: 

  • Identify and apply principles of criminal procedure, with an emphasis on federal constitutional limitations
  • Classify and use crime terminology aligned with the Pennsylvania Crimes Code
  • Demonstrate crime and justice system methodology using field-specific terminology
  • Apply ACT 120 Certification toward their degree, qualifying them for municipal police employment in Pennsylvania

ACT 120 Certification training will be earned outside of BC3, from a Pennsylvania-approved provider and transferred in with the approval of the Dean of Liberal Arts. 

Program Requirements

The degree consists of a minimum of 66 credits, including credits awarded for Act 120 certification training. Completion typically spans four semesters, with flexibility depending on ACT 120 availability from participating providers.
