Heaton Family Learning Commons Library Resources

Study Rooms

The Heaton has two study rooms on the upper level and four study rooms on the lower level. One study room on the lower level can seat up to 12 people; all other study rooms can seat up to five people. Each study room contains a computer equipped with a camera, microphone and speaker, as well as a port for attaching a laptop. The large study room has a large whiteboard. Mobile whiteboards are available to use in the other study rooms.

Note: The availability of the room will need to be confirmed during regular library hours. A library staff member will get back to you.

Printing & Technology

The Heaton has a color copier/printer on the upper level and a black & white printer/copier on the lower level. You can print from a Heaton computer workstation or wirelessly from your laptop or phone.

Technology Help Desk

Need help? The BC3 Technology Help Desk is the support center for students, faculty, and staff with questions and/or problems related to BC3-authorized educational technology products and software, BC3 campus computers, and/or phone-related issues.

Division of Educational Technology

The Division of Educational Technology is located on the Upper Level of the Heaton Family Learning Commons. It facilitates distance education programs and classes.

Vintage @ BC3

BC3 @ Vintage is located on the upper level of the Heaton Family Learning Commons. It offers delicious food and beverages. Outside the café, food and drinks are permitted in the open areas; lids are requested. Food and drinks are not permitted at the computer workstations.

Library Events

The Heaton Family Learning Commons offers a wide range of student events and activities. From author talks to book clubs to therapy dog visits, there's always something happening at the library.

Heaton Family Learning Commons Library Facilities

A 16-seat conference room on the upper level is available for use by BC3 administrators, faculty, staff, and college-related committees, organizations, clubs, and community partners. Reserve the NexTier Conference Room through Astra.

Upper-level multimedia classroom (Room 232): This is a 20-seat classroom with iTV and video conferencing available. The desks have pop-up computers to enable conversion between lab and lecture space.

Lower-level multimedia classroom (Room 133): 24-seat computer lab with instructor computer and projector.

Butler County Community Patrons

Butler County residents are welcome to use the Heaton Family Learning Commons resources and services. Ask at the Reference Desk for a library card, computer login, or assistance finding resources.
