(Cleveland) Addison Henry had six service aces, Addison Say 32 assists and Madelyn Nosel 15 kills as the 13th-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball team defeated Cuyahoga Community College 3-1 Friday night in Cleveland.
After dropping the opening set 26-24, BC3 posted wins of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-18 to win its fourth match in a row and move to 7-1.
Taylor Simon had 17 of BC3’s 71 digs, Sarah Lucas 16 and Say 13 along with three service aces.
Emmy Fisher added 13 kills and Mackenzie Kurtz three solo blocks for the Pioneers.
BC3 was ranked No. 13 among 86 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III programs in a poll released Sept. 14.
BC3’s program has been ranked in the Top 15 in Division III of the National Junior College Athletic Association in 40 of 44 polls dating to Oct. 4, 2021, including the past 21 in a row.
Cuyahoga is 2-8.
Henry, a graduate of Redbank Valley High School, and Fisher, Seneca Valley, are opposite hitters; Say, Keystone, is a setter and opposite hitter; Nosel, Warren, an outside hitter; Simon, Butler, and Lucas, Butler, are defensive specialists and Kurtz, Knoch, is a middle hitter.
