Welding Certificate
Gain the theoretical knowledge and hands-on application necessary to adjoin similar and dissimilar metals, and perform a variety of other tasks associated with welding. Be prepared for entry-level welding positions in manufacturing and industrial firms, construction, fabrication shops, and building/construction trade unions.
Topics Include
- Occupational orientation and safety
- Principles of welding
- Welding print reading
- Hands on application with choice of one process toward D1.1 certification attempt on 1” plate. Choice of process: GWAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding/MIG) or; GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding/TIG) or; SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding/Stick) or; FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding).

Costs and Requirements
Cost: $3,150 (plus $2 registration fee)
Includes class materials and 1 attempt at chosen certification.
Requirements:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalency. Students are expected to comply with
BC3 Student Code of Conduct in addition to BCAVTS policies and procedures.
Welder’s Kit: $250 (Optional)
Students can purchase this kit through BC3 or on their own (subject to inspection
to meet minimum standards required for this certificate).
