Microsoft Office Training
Training will be offered either face to face at our Main Campus, BC3@Lawrence Crossing, or remotely via Go To Meeting. Remote training will be conducted live, allowing for dialogue between instructor and participants throughout the session.
Welcome to the wonderful world of spreadsheets! Data and number crunching is key in
today's fast-paced business environment. If you don't know your numbers, you don't
know your business. In this course, we will take some basic data tracking, and focus
on design and development tricks that will make that spreadsheet work more effectively
for you.

This course builds upon a foundation knowledge of Excel, and will help start you down
the road to creating advanced workbooks and worksheets that can help deepen your understanding
of organizational intelligence. The ability to analyze massive amounts of data, extract
actionable information from it, and present that information to decision-makers, is
at the foundation of successful organizations competing at a high level.

Clearly you use Excel a lot in your role, and are likely called on to analyze and
report on data frequently. How do you keep up with maintaining all the reports with
your busy schedule? You need to get Excel to do more for you so you can stay on top
of things. This course concentrates on the ability to automate complex or repetitive
tasks, and use conditional logic to construct elaborate and powerful formulas to put
the full power of Excel at your fingertips.

This Target course is designed for those who wish to concentrate on formulas. Students
should have a foundational knowledge and skill in Excel, and should be looking to
take advantage of some higher-level Excel functionality.
Cost: $80
Designed to get you up and running in Powerpoint quickly. This step-by-step workshop
will allow you to write a simple presentation, apply slide layouts, design templates,
and add animation!
Cost: $80
Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts provide you with insights to make decisions easily and
efficiently. Learn how to organize, analyze, sort, summarize, and find patterns in
your data in just seconds. With a simple change of field’s location, you can quickly
analyze your data to track inventory, determine total sales by salesperson, view sales
by month vs. the full year, and so much more. Don’t work another day without learning
how these Excel features will provide you with a critical advantage to make precise
and quick decisions.

Leadership Training

Finance for the Non-Finance Professional
Finance for the Non-Finance Professional is designed with the non-financial manager, small business owner, bookkeeper, or entry-level corporate accounting professional in mind, and will be helpful either to learn new skills, or enhance existing ones, for the purposes or gaining new employment, becoming more useful and promoting oneself in existing employment relationships, and/or improving business profitability through better business decision-making.
This seven-part course is intended to develop or strengthen the basic finance and accounting skills necessary to succeed in a business environment through discussion and practical application of the role of accounting in business, basic accounting concepts, financial transactions, understanding financial statements, financial statement analysis, budgeting and planning, and internal control processes.
- All seven classes offered at BC3 main campus.

This introduction to the course sets the stage for understanding the critical role accounting plays in business. It includes discussion on how key players work together to communicate vital, financial information to stakeholders in business and helps them to make informed decisions.

This core unit introduces some of the basic accounting concepts, principles, and terminology that are the necessary building blocks upon which to better understand, communicate, and evaluate accounting information. Topics include basic principles of accounting, accounting methods, debits and credits, the accounting equation, etc.
Mar. 30, 2021 - Register for this training
This section reviews the types of financial transactions commonly encountered in business and focuses on how the accounting concepts previously discussed come together as they are recorded in the accounting system.
Apr. 6, 2021 - Register for this training
This unit defines what a financial statement is, who its users are, and how accounting concepts and transactions come together within to provide a picture of the financial position and activities of a business.
Apr. 13, 2021 - Register for this training
This section provides instruction on how to read and evaluate a financial statement using the concepts learned in this course, and commonly used ratio analysis, for decision-making and informational purposes.
Apr. 20, 2021 - Register for this training
This critical unit defines the difference between financial budgeting and planning and emphasizes the need for businesses to be proactive in setting, monitoring, and evaluating short- and long-term goals through budgeting and planning processes.
Apr. 27, 2021 - Register for this training
This final unit includes discussion on internal control procedures and some common types of internal controls that can be implemented to safeguard assets, ensure the quality if financial information, and prevent fraud as well as a final review of the course overall.
